Tim from Youth Work Hacks has been involved in regular training around the UK for the last ten years. His approach is very practical, hands on, multi-media saturated and conversation driven.

The two pillars that support all YWH Training Topics are the Bible and Culture. Each session therefore will have a healthy portion of theology and a clear application for 21st Century practice.

YWHs offer monthly training and specialist packages. Scroll down to look at what’s available now and what’s been done before.

If you have specific ideas or training needs that you don’t see listed here, do get in touch.

Team Building Day

One whole day packed with activities to build your teams communication, effectiveness and spiritual compassion.

This day will take you though fun and engaging processes that sharpen both the spiritual and practical sides of your ministry together. You will learn more about each others personalities, how to work as a unit and how to take better care of each other spiritually.

Alongside the basics of teamwork, this day will also include conflict resolution and mediation training.

This one-day package can be expanded to include a Safeguarding training refresher.

Understanding Youth Culture

Understanding the emerging culture of teenagers in the West and applying communication methods that work.

This is an absolute must for new projects – getting to grips with the specific traits and nuances of this generation. We will draw out specifics, make contrasts, and look at how the online world has informed community among young people.

This session will cover the generational contexts from the last 60 years and how that affects cross-generational teaching/learning styles. Can be done as an evening, whole or half day.

Biblical Theology Of Youth Work

Delving into the foundational roots of what we do, why we do it and how we can do it better!

Either run as a whole day, half day or evening, this session unpacks the Bible’s key passages in context to help us understand exactly what it is were doing. It will highlight essential theology for youth ministry, and it will open up some exegetical practice to hone our Bible reading techniques.

This is a deep day for those who want some meat to study – but also has a highly practical element to it that will help you with writing your own Bible Study material.

Becoming a better communicator

A one-day crash course into the art of multi-varied communication techniques for church leaders.

This day will cover everything from delivering clear talks, to writing healthy emails. It will look at understanding learning styles, formational contexts, and even the science of public speaking.

Drawing from his experience as a voice coach and experienced trainer, Tim will walk you through a wide variety of nuances needed to help you grow as a communicator. This day will also include conflict resolution, and chair-person skills.

Plateaued growth? Hemorrhaging leaders? Can’t get Young People to engage with Jesus? No younger ages coming up into the group? Let’s have a look together at your strategy, people, context and resources and get to the bottom of the issue – and move through it. Get in touch for a friendly chat about how we can help you move forward as a ministry.

Team Building Day

Everything you need from Job Descriptions, HR Policies, Pension Advice, Contracts, Interview Help and 1st Year Coaching.

Hiring a new Youth Leader can be daunting – especially when you consider the balance of legal and spiritual needs. Allow us to help you by crafting you a bespoke package which will be legally up to date and spiritually aware. We can also come down and help with the interview process.

Personal Coaching

Helping youth leaders and teams one-to-one through Skype.

We offer one off sessions to help resolve conflicts and give advice; packages to help new Youth Workers through their first year; and regular sessions to give experienced practitioners another set of eyes and ears to bounce ideas off. Coaching is fundamental to health – which is fundamental to success!

A usual Skype session is 30 minutes.
